Letter from Gene Krupa to Manie Sacks -- July 8, 1948

Letter from Gene Krupa to Manie Sacks -- July 8, 1948

Fascinating two-page letter from the great drummer to Emmanuel "Manie" Sacks, Vice-President of Columbia Records, regarding disputed rights to some recordings of Krupa performances that were not made for Columbia. In the letter, Krupa specifically find fault with Norman Granz who "sold me a bill of goods" and "one Timmie Rosencranz*" who bothered Krupa to "a point of extreme annoyance." A delightful gem, signed by Krupa on his stationery. D106

*Probably Baron Timme Rosenkrantz, the Danish jazz aficionado.
